Planting bulbs in Autumn for you Spring garden will ensure a colorful display of Daffodils, Tulips, Irises,Hyacinths, Narcissus etc.  When selecting bulbs make sure that they are firm, dry and as large as possible as the bigger bulbs are more mature and  likely to produce flowers. There must be no obvious signs of mildew, disease or  that they have started to sprout green shoots.

When preparing the soil,  enrich it with compost and eliminate  the weeds so that they do not compete with the planted bulbs for essential nutrients. Flowering bulbs need well- drained soil, they tend to rot in damp and excessive moist areas.  Plant bulbs at once after buying them  to reduce the possibility for disease and poor flowering. If you cannot get them in the ground right away, keep them cool and dry and try not to leave it longer than 10 days. Dependant upon the type, most bulbs like a warm, sunny spot with good drainage.  Plant the bulbs keeping the pointed side to face upwards.  Cover the spot with mulch to maintain the temperature, but remove it as soon as the shoots start to appear,  otherwise the growth will be delayed.

The planting depth should be about two to three times deeper than the size of the bulb, with more or less the same distance between each plant. Placing  bulbs too deep or shallow in the ground will result in poor flowering or complete failure.

Pots can also be used for planting bulbs. To get an impressive display of blooms,  you can place two layers of bulbs in one container, but make sure they don’t overlap. Place a circle of bulbs a little deeper than normal, covering it with a layer of soil, but leaving the tips slightly visible. Then plant another layer offset from the deeper one and cover it completely.  You can plant bulbs closer together into pots than in the garden.  But remember as pots dry out quickly, keep them well watered.

A dog is man’s best friend, therefore proper care for it is essential.  Vaccination is important, especially against rabies and other animal illnesses.  Spaying your dog is a good idea if you don’t want to breed with it, because it is better for it’s health and will assure a longer life.  You also will not have the problem of unwanted pups.  Buy a well known brand of dog food, because it contains all the necessary nutritions while  human food is not good for dogs.    Also make sure that it has a good supply of clean, fresh water.  Take your dog regularly for a check-up to the veterinary to make sure it stays healthy.  When you take your dog for a walk, make sure it is always on a leash.  This will prevent that it could get in a fight with other dogs, get hit by a car or attack other people.  It is a good idea to fit a ID tag to the dog’s collar with your details on it, so if it gets lost, people will be able to return it to you.  When your dog is still small, take it for basic training.  This will ensure that you would be able to handle it with ease.
Make sure your dog has proper shelter, especially when sleeping outside. Last but not least, give your dog lots of love, they are worth it and will return it in multi-fold.
